On the way to their apartment we stopped and got lunch consisting of a Donner which is like our gyro. Afterwards we ate lunch, we decided to go to Rotenburg, but making a stop at the local bike shop. The name of the shop was called Zweiraden...at least I think it was. Anyway, we were looking for bike jerseys that had Germany or Deutschland or Ansbach on them, but they didn't have any. While we were looking at some maps, this dude who worked there came up and asked us if we needed any help. Tammy and I are planning a 3 to 4 day bike ride across Bavaria the next time we come and we were looking for maps of known routes for bikes. The guy said they didn't have anything like that but he also said he was a mountain biker and not a road biker. In the course of conversation he said he has been to California to ride and in a couple years wants to compete in the Red Bull Rampage in Utah. I told him me and my best friend want to go and watch. He said we definitely should. His name was Mattias and I told him I would be watching for him in the next few Rampage competitions.
Rotenburg is one of my favorite cities. It reminds me of what we Americans think of when we think of a traditional German village. The streets are narrow, the buildings all attached with each having a peak in the roof. For me, just walking the streets of Rotenburg is very cool. The one store we definitely wanted to go to was the Christmas store...Kathe Wohlfarht. There we picked up a few items, then headed back to the center of town where there was a line of covered wagons that were just heading out.
The Covered Wagons
From Rotenburg we headed back to Ansbach where we stopped at the police or Polizei station where Michael works. He gave us a good tour of the communications center, then down to the jail where one person was already in jail, and then he decided to put me and Manuel in jail...

Across from the Polizei station was the church where Manuel and Christina will be married next year. There was an interesting art exhibition outside the church, on church property...I'll let you decide what you think. First picture is the church, the second and third pictures are two of the exhibition pieces...or more like the exhibition pieces being exhibitioners...
Hallelujer! In other news...
The weather was quite warm today, unusually warm for Germany for this time of year, and it should remain warm for the rest of our stay.
I have another correction. I've been corrected on my spelling of Bamberg. It should be Bamburg. I asked whats the difference. I was told that berg is reference to a mountain where burg is reference to a castle. In its English pronounciation there is no difference in the way we say it, but to the Germans, there is a difference. Burg is pronounced boo-rg while berg is pronounced just like it is spelled. Okay, that's our German lesson for today.
